The Problem: The Hidden Epidemic of Chronic Wounds

Chronic wounds are more than just slow-healing injuries—they are a silent and growing health crisis.
Every year in the United States, over 6.5 million people develop wounds that fail to heal on their own.
These wounds often result from underlying conditions such as diabetes, poor circulation, immobility, or infection, and they can quickly spiral into severe complications, including death or amputation

Matthew 25:36, 40
"I was sick and you looked after me… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Save a Life Circle – Chronic Wound Care

The New Earth Project believes no one should lose their mobility—or their life—because they didn’t know help was available. Chronic wounds are often preventable and treatable, yet too many people suffer in silence due to lack of awareness, delayed diagnosis, and difficulty accessing advanced care.

We aim to change this through community outreach, education, and patient advocacy—ensuring that those in need are identified early, guided through Medicare Part B qualification, and connected with skilled practitioners who can provide life-saving treatments. By raising awareness and offering hands-on help, we close the gap between suffering and healing.

Why it matters:

  • Higher risk of infection & hospitalization

Chronic wounds can allow bacteria to enter the body, leading to dangerous infections.

  • Amputation risk

Especially in diabetic foot ulcers, untreated wounds are one of the leading causes of lower-limb amputation.

  • Reduced quality of life

Pain, limited mobility, and emotional distress can isolate patients and erode independence.

  • Increased mortality

Studies show some chronic wounds have a five-year mortality rate equal to, or higher than, many cancers.

The tragedy?

Many of these outcomes are preventable with early detection, proper treatment, and access to advanced wound care.

This is where the New Earth Project steps in—to bridge the gap between need and care, and to walk with patients every step of the way.

We bridge the gap between need and care by:

  • Finding those in need – Identifying patients at risk for or already suffering from chronic wounds.

  • Educating the community – Sharing prevention tips to reduce wound risks before they become serious.

  • Qualifying patients – Helping individuals navigate Medicare Part B requirements for advanced treatments.

  • Connecting to care – Matching patients with experienced wound care practitioners in their area.

  • Providing advocacy – Standing by patients to answer questions, explain options, and coordinate resources.

  • Following through – Ensuring each patient gets the care, support, and follow-up they need to heal.

Together we heal!
